About EZECO

EZECO is a Birmingham-based solar installation company serving homes and businesses across the Midlands. We handle everything from your free initial survey through to installation, certification, and 25 years of aftercare — all under one roof, with no subcontracted handoffs.

Most solar companies install and move on. EZECO stays involved for the life of your system: we remotely monitor performance, cover components under our aftercare plan, and are on hand if anything needs attention — for 25 years, not just the first one.

EZECO is TrustMark approved — a Government-endorsed quality scheme — and operates under Simply Certification, our MCS-certified partner, which is required to access schemes like the Smart Export Guarantee. Every installation is fully compliant with BS 7671 wiring regulations and G98 grid connection standards. We're happy to share customer reviews and references on request.

We install across Birmingham and the wider Midlands region.

What We Offer

  • Free home solar surveys and bespoke system design
  • Solar panel installation, residential and commercial
  • Battery storage installation and retrofits
  • 25-year aftercare and remote performance monitoring
  • Support applying for the Smart Export Guarantee (SEG)
  • Health checks, upgrades, and monitoring takeover for existing systems

Yes. Through the Smart Export Guarantee (SEG), your energy supplier pays you for surplus electricity exported back to the grid. Once your system is installed and certified, we'll walk you through registering for SEG.

Yes. We work with existing systems too, including:

  • A full health check on your current installation
  • Adding battery storage to maximise what you're already generating
  • Taking over monitoring and maintenance
  • Upgrading older equipment where needed
03

Pricing, VAT & Finance

Cost depends on your property and the system size that suits your usage — most residential installations range from roughly £5,000–£9,000. A free survey gives you an exact, tailored figure.

Yes. Residential solar panel and battery storage installations in the UK currently qualify for 0% VAT, meaning the price you're quoted has no VAT added — a straightforward saving with no extra paperwork on your end.

Yes. We work with a trusted finance partner so you can spread the cost of your installation with monthly repayments structured around your expected energy savings — in many cases, the system effectively pays for itself over time.

Installation Process

One of our specialists will:

  • Assess your roof structure, orientation, and condition
  • Check for shading that could affect output
  • Review your electricity bills and usage patterns
  • Design a bespoke system for your home, not a template
  • Provide savings and payback projections
  • Walk through finance options if relevant

The survey takes about an hour and comes with no obligation to proceed.

Most roofs are. We assess orientation, structural condition, and shading — south, west, and east-facing roofs all perform well in the UK. We run a digital shading analysis during the survey to check for anything that could block daylight from reaching the panels.

In most cases, no — residential solar installations fall under "Permitted Development," so formal planning permission isn't required, provided the panels don't protrude too far from the roofline. Exceptions apply to listed buildings and some Conservation Areas; we check this for your property before any work begins.

The installation itself is usually completed in a single day. You'll receive all paperwork — MCS certificate, G98 notification, and so on — the same day.

We use industry-standard mounting systems designed to keep your roof weatherproof and structurally sound, and all wiring meets BS 7671 standards. If your existing roof warranty requires a check beforehand, we'll advise on that too.

05

Warranty & 25-Year Aftercare

No. Every EZECO installation includes a 25-year aftercare plan. We remotely monitor your system, cover its components, and remain reachable if anything needs attention. You also get access to a live generation app to check performance yourself at any time.

Our 24/7 remote monitoring tracks your system's output automatically. If a component underperforms, our team typically sees it on our dashboard before you notice anything — and we contact you to resolve it.

Solar panels are built to last 25–30 years and come with performance warranties covering that period. Lithium-ion battery storage typically carries a 10-year manufacturer warranty and is engineered for thousands of charge/discharge cycles — generally 10–15 years of daily use before any gradual capacity decline.

Very little. Panels are solid-state with no moving parts. UK rainfall naturally clears most dust and debris, so an occasional visual check or professional rinse every few years is normally sufficient. Our remote monitoring also flags any output drop from debris or faults automatically.

06

Compliance & Certification

EZECO operates under Simply Certification, an MCS-certified body, ensuring every installation meets MCS standards required for schemes like the Smart Export Guarantee. We are also TrustMark approved and fully compliant with BS 7671 wiring regulations and G98 grid connection standards.

It means fair pricing and transparent contracts, enforced professional installation standards, and access to independent dispute resolution if you ever need it — full protection from quote to installation to aftercare.

07

Performance

Yes. Panels generate power from daylight, not direct hot sunlight — photovoltaic cells still absorb solar radiation through cloud cover. System designs account for regional daylight averages so seasonal output is realistic from the outset.

Yes, via the Smart Export Guarantee (SEG). Surplus electricity your panels generate but don't use or store gets sent back to the grid, and your supplier pays a fixed rate per kWh exported. We help you register once your system is installed and certified.
